We were very excited to start our journey exploring craft beer bars in Copenhagen when we landed in May 15th, 2015. Right on time for Michele’s birthday! We left our bags at our friend’s place and headed straight to Baisikeli’s bike rental shop. After a crash course of the city’s hand signals for bicycles, we took the road with our vintage bikes.

Warpigs Brewpub

Our first stop was Warpigs Brewpub in the Meatpacking District. Located in and around a parking lot, they brew their own beer onsite and have more than 20 taps of choice. Outside you can find large wooden tables, perfect for enjoying a fresh beer on a sunny day.

Mikkeller Bar

The next morning we were the very first to enter infamous Mikkeller Bar near the main train station. Small and cozy, we started our day in the best way possible: with a creamy geeky breakfast stout from Mikkeller himself.

Mikkeller & Friends

But the best bar in the city was yet to be discovered… Mikkeller & Friends with it’s friendly ambiance, 40 beers on tap from Mikkeller himself and very interesting guest breweries – think 3 Floyds, To Øl, Ewil Twin and more – as well as a (not too coldish) nordic decor, makes it the perfect spot to spend a rainy afternoon for beer geeks, drunks and alike.

Miber @Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhague

All in all, Copenhagen has a serious craft beer scene and we recommend it as a top destination to any beer connaisseur out there.
